1. How do I sign up for InTouch?
Signing up for an account with InTouch is free and only takes a few minutes. Simply click on the Sign Up button and complete the form. Please note that all fields must be completed to sign up. You will then receive an email confirming that you have successfully signed up with InTouch with all your account details. You can log in immediately after receiving the email and start loading your contacts and purchasing SMS credits 2. Are there any other costs involved in order to make use of the InTouch service and send SMS messages? There are no registration fees or monthly fees. InTouch operates on a prepaid basis. 3. What happens if I cannot remember my password when I log in? You can click on Forgot Password? and a new box will open requesting you to type in your Username and submit it to InTouch Support. You will then receive a new password to use at your next log in. After three unsuccessful attempts to log in with the incorrect password, a new box will open requesting you to type in your Username and submit it to InTouch Support. You will then receive an email with your username and a new password to use at your next log in. 4. How can I purchase SMS Credits?You need to have an InTouch account and be the Administrator User in order to purchase SMS credits. Credits are purchased on a prepaid basis. As Administrator User, simply click on the Order SMS Credits menu tab on the left under Admin Management and follow the on-screen prompts. 5. How long does it take to deliver SMS messages?Typically, SMS messages are delivered anywhere between 10 seconds and 3 minutes. 6. Are status reports provided for undelivered messages?All messages will have a status report, indicating whether they are successfully delivered or not delivered. 7. How do I know the status of the SMS’s I sent?Click on Sent Items under Messaging on the left of your web browser page. This will open the Sent Items page where the delivery status of each message can be viewed. 8. How do I know the balance of my SMS credits?When you log in as a user, the balance of your SMS credits is displayed on your user home page (the Summary page), as well as at the bottom of the left Navigation pane just under the Logout button. 9. Will my contacts be able to see my name when they receive the SMS’s?This feature is known as Sender ID and is unfortunately no longer available in South Africa due to the policy of the mobile networks. We recommend that you include your school’s name at the end of the SMS (if there are enough SMS characters left). Your contacts can alternatively save the number they receive messages from in their phone’s address book under your school’s name. 10. What does alphanumeric mean?Alphanumeric data is a combination of numbers and letters (a – z, or A – Z and 0 – 9). 11. What SMS messages are considered to be spam?SMS spam is defined by the Wireless Application Service Provider Association (WASPA) – the Industry body regulating messaging in South Africa – as “unsolicited commercial communications”. “Any commercial message is considered unsolicited (and hence spam) unless: the recipient has requested the message; the message recipient has a direct and recent prior commercial relationship with the message originator and would reasonably expect to receive marketing communications from the originator; or the organisation supplying the originator with the recipient's contact information has the recipient's explicit consent to do so.” For the full WASPA Code of Conduct go to: http://www.waspa.org.za/code/codeconduct.shtml |
